What type of church is The Gilgal Project?
The Gilgal Project could best be described as an evangelical Christian non-denominational church. Evangelical Christians hold a high view of the Bible, inspired by God and without error in its original manuscripts. We believe that the only way to salvation and a relationship with God is through belief in Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. We take seriously Jesus’ commandment to make disciples here and around the world. While the members of our fellowship come from many different Christian traditions, we do not align ourselves with any one denomination.
Which Bible translation do you use?
We don’t have one specific translation we universally employ in our services, but we have a short list of translations we recommend. This list includes the King James, New King James, New American Standard, English Standard, and New International. The pastor typically preaches and teaches from the New King James.
What’s the dress code?
Come as you are. It is Florida, after all! Shorts and T-shirts are fine when it’s warm. Whatever you’re comfortable wearing is what you should wear. We just ask that you dress modestly, which means keeping everything G-rated.
Do you allow people with tats and piercings?
Sure. Why wouldn’t we?
Can I lift my hands and clap during the singing and praise time?
Absolutely. We consider our Sunday morning service to be a celebration, and if you celebrate best by lifting your hands or clapping, then do it! By the same token, if you aren’t into hand raising and clapping, don’t feel any pressure. Do what works for you.
Is child care available?
We don’t have childcare available. But we’re fine with the kids stretching their legs during the service.
Do I have to put money in the offering plate?
No. But if you do, know that all giving helps us to maintain our equipment and support our ministry.
Will you pester me afterward and sell my name to some list company?
We’d like to get your info, but we’re pretty low key about it. If you give us an email address or phone number, we keep your contact information for our own internal use. Nobody else ever sees it.
If you have other questions, drop us an email. Whatever your church background, or if you don’t have one, relax. You’re among friends!
